Privacy Policy - At Akoya, we are committed to providing our clients with exceptional customer service.  The providing of this service involves the collection, use and disclosure of some personal information about our clients and protecting our clients’ personal information is important to us.

Your Information - Beyond what is necessary for the purchase and sale of our products we will only collect client information that is necessary to fulfill the following purposes: 

To identify client preferences;To deliver requested products and servicesTo enrol the client in a program;To contact our clients for fundraising;To ensure a high standard of service to our clients;To meet regulatory requirements; andTo assist with product development.

Consent - We will obtain our client’s consent to collect, use or disclose personal information. Our clients shall be given a reasonable opportunity to opt-out of mail-outs and the marketing of new services or products. 

Disclosure – We will only use or disclose client personal information where necessary to fulfill the purposes identified at the time of collection. We will not use or disclose client personal information for any additional purpose unless we obtain consent to do so.  We will not sell client lists or personal information to other parties.

Retaining Personal Information – We will retain client personal information only as long as necessary to complete the purpose for which it was collected.

Shopify - Our online store is hosted on the Shopify Inc. platform. All our products and services are sold to our clients through Shopify and our clients’ personal and payment information is provided to Shopify through the general Shopify application. Shopify stores our clients’ data on a secure server behind a firewall. 

If a client chooses a direct payment gateway to complete his or her purchase, then Shopify stores the client’s credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). The client’s purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete the client’s purchase transaction. After that is complete, the client’s purchase transaction information is deleted.  Please review Shopify’s Terms of Service or Privacy Statement for more information.

Third-party services - In general, the third-party providers retained by us will only collect, use and disclose our clients’ information only to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they have agreed to provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for our clients’ purchase-related transactions. For these providers, we recommend that our clients read their privacy policies to understand the manner in which our clients’ personal information will be handled by these providers. Once our client leaves our store’s website or is redirected to a third-party website or application, this Privacy Policy no longer governs.
